Bae Fest began as an independent community festival held on the picturesque foreshores of Swansea Bay, South Wales.
The idea for the event was conceived by Jay Doyle, a resident of Swansea with a vision of widening access to outdoor and sporting activities to all, while promoting positive use of our beaches and recreational areas.

With the invaluable help of dedicated supporters, a core team of organisers was formed and Bae Fest came into being in 2008. After a moratorium of two years, Bae Fest will make its return on the 28th and 29th September 2013 when City and County of Swansea will take the reigns in hosting the event.
Bae Fest is a unique and colourful event with a carnival atmosphere and a programme packed with water and land-based events, live music, arts and crafts, kids’ entertainment and much more.
The non-profit event supports environmental and community initiatives and encourages greater awareness and public participation in greener and healthier living.
The festival has grown into the largest event of its kind in Wales and has featured in 'Surfer', America's largest surfing magazine and has been nominated for six awards.
